Autumn Tree
  • 1-sheet 8.5 x 11 white paper
  • brown construction paper
  • sponge
  • red
  • green
  • orange
  • yellow
  • and brown paint
  • Cut the sponge into small, irregular shapes and set aside. Cut brown construction paper in the shape of a tree trunk. Glue the trunk onto the white paper. Let the children dip the sponges in to the paints and then onto the paper making fall colored leaves for the tree.

Note: I give the young children only one color of paint at a time so that colors do not get blended. Also, as colors dry another color can be sponged on top of it for a nice effect.
